Channel Sanderson is a dedicated and energetic servant leader running for Mayor of Council, Idaho. A retired teacher, former military member, and local computer shop owner for three years, Channel brings a wealth of experience to the role. With 18 years as an IT professional and 6 years as a Realtor, he has a proven track record of solving problems and building community.
As a proud voting member of the Council Chamber of Commerce and a local resident, Channel is deeply committed to our town’s future. Guided by traditional Christian values, he is grateful for opportunities to serve, always stepping up to help where needed. His vision is based on traditional values, smart growth, and a more vibrant community for all.

As your Mayor, I will work tirelessly to make Council, Idaho, a stronger, more vibrant community while honoring our traditional values. My priorities are:
Preserving Traditional Values: Guided by my Christian values and inspired to serve where I can, I’ll champion policies that uphold family values, support local home-grown businesses and Council traditions like the 4th of July Celebration, Easter egg hunt, Farmers market, and trunk-or-treat. I want to ensure every voice is heard in shaping our town’s future.
Building a Community Swimming Pool: As a Council resident, I’m committed to bringing our community together with a new swimming pool—a family-friendly space for recreation, a swim team, exercise, and local pride that reflects Council’s spirit of togetherness.
Addressing Housing Needs: Drawing on my six years as a Realtor and three years as a local business owner, I’ll promote smart, sustainable housing development that meets the needs of our growing community while preserving Council’s rural charm and affordability.
